Rural Gardens

We believe that good design should impose the lightest touch possible on the environment. Sometimes the slightest alterations can make the whole garden work better without the need for large areas of hard landscaping. This is particularly important in rural sites where nature and wildlife come to the door. We choose hard materials that are locally used and sourced and pay consideration to what grows naturally in the area before producing designs.

We favour mown paths through long grass as low cost and light touch solutions to provide access whilst respecting existing wildlife. We research wild plants growing in the area and choose their ornamental cousins to plant nearer the house. This ensures that high interest colour, form and textured planting is provided to our clients and helps the planting blend seamlessly into its surroundings.
