Wash Of Light
The Wash of Light
“Inspiration is the feeling of beginning at the threshold where Silence and Light meet.” Louis Kahn
As architects we try and anticipate how unbuilt spaces may appear, we have various visualisation methods, some theories, much software. Space is rationalised, light is measured. And yet while wandering through buildings those moments when one is put to reverie by light tempered atmospheres reminds us that there is no substitute for the surprise of the real. The otherworldly quality of actual light has a temporal moment and temperature that can activate a room and make you pause, listen.
